Kaiya has a disturbing dark past that leaves her having nightmares. She tries to not let it affect her but it has in certain ways. Despite her past, she is a loving sweet person who just wants to live her life and be free. She goes to the gym with her brother and decides to take self defense classes. Her teacher just so happens to be a hottie.

Ryker sleeps around. He has a past that leaves him not trusting anyone. He is a muscle guru and works at the gym. He is the hottie instructor. He finds himself drawn to Kaiya and he has no idea why.

I love everything about this book. The way Ryker helps her and down to her relationship with her brother and his protectiveness. This really is a bittersweet story. She tries not to let him in and tries to deal with everything herself, but in the end, her heart knows what it wants! The first thing I noticed was obviously the cover. I LOVE the cover. some may not know who he is but i noticed Andrew right away!! I literally said to myself no way!!!! The cover is amazing!! Andrew and the female model make the cover stand out. Its one of the best I've seen! As a debut novel, everything about this book is fantastic and i would recommend it a million times! I look to reading more from this author!! Amazing!!
